Wine makes me a bit docile (5)

I believe the answer is:
medoc
'wine' is the definition.
(I have seen 'red wine' mean 'medoc' so perhaps 'wine' could also mean 'medoc')
'me a bit docile' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'me' is found in the answer.
'bit' could be 'o' (resembles 0, a binary digit or bit) and 'o' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'dc' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'makes' acts as a link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for medoc that I've seen before include "French red wine" , "Red wine from southwest France" , "Wine-growing area" , "Type of wine" , "French intoxicant" .)
