With internal publicity, confronts illusions (7)
I believe the answer is:
facades
'illusions' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are plural nouns, I can't understand how they can define each other.
'with internal publicity confronts' is the wordplay.
'with' indicates putting letters inside.
'internal publicity' becomes 'ad' (advert. I am not sure about the 'internal' bit.).
'confronts' becomes 'faces' ('face' can be a synonym of 'confront').
'ad' going into 'faces' is 'FACADES'.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Another definition for facades that I've seen is " Fronts of buildings".)
