I cannot quite see how this works, but
'duck' could be 'o' (resembles zero - 'duck' in cricket) and 'o' is present in the answer.
'sandwich' could be 'blt' (BLT is an example) and 'blt' is found in the leftover letters.
This accounts for all the letters.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
