Woman's stoic followers are very brave (6)
I believe the answer is:
heroic
'very brave' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'woman's stoic followers' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'woman's' could be 'her' (belonging to a woman) and 'her' is found within the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'are' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for heroic that I've seen before include "Of deed or person, very brave" , "Very brave and noble" , "Showing no fear in the face of extreme difficulty" , "Imposing or impressive: very courageous" , "Fearless, valiant" .)
