Worked out base 3 in Asian location (7,3)
I believe the answer is:
arabian sea
'location' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I cannot understand how one could define the other.
'worked out base 3 in asian' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'base' could be 'e' (Euler's number - base of natural logarithms) and 'e' is found within the answer.
an anagram of 'asian' is 'iansa' which is within the left over letters.
The remaining letters 'arab' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for arabian sea that I've seen before include "NW part of Indian Ocean" , "stretch of water" , "large body of water" , "salt water" .)
