Worker to snoop around butler's domain (6)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

pantry

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'butler's domain' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I don't see how one could define the other.

'worker to snoop around' is the wordplay.
'worker' becomes 'ant' (worker is a type of ant).
'to snoop' becomes 'pry' (I've seen this before).
'around' means one lot of letters goes inside another.
'ant' inserted into 'pry' is 'PANTRY'.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for pantry that I've seen before include "Small storeroom for food etc" , "Store cupboard" , "Food store" , "Type of larder" , "Room off the kitchen" .)

I've seen this clue in The Sun.
