Writer on radio makes Indian dish (5)
I believe the answer is:
raita
'indian dish' is the definition.
(type of Indian side dish)
'writer on radio' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'writer' could be 'i' (the person who is writing these clues) and 'i' is found in the answer.
'on' could be 'at' (I've seen this in other clues) and 'at' is found in the remaining letters.
The remaining letters 'ra' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'makes' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for raita that I've seen before include "dish in the curry house" , "yoghurt dish from India" , "Yoghurt-based Indian condiment" , "Indian yogurt and vegetable dish" , "Something with yoghurt" .)
