Crossword Genius

Yet it's enough food to go round (6,4)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

square meal

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'round' is the definition.
Both the definition and answer are adjectives.
Maybe they are linked in a way I don't understand?

'yet it's enough food to go' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'food' could be 'meal' (meal is a kind of food) and 'meal' is found within the answer.
'to go' could be 're' (I've seen this in other clues) and 're' is found in the answer.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for square meal that I've seen before include "proper food" , "Substantial repast" , "Courses" , "Satisfying food" , "apparently not a round of sandwiches?" .)

I've seen this clue in The Globe and Mail.
