Yields seeds, it's said (5)
I believe the answer is:
cedes
'yields' is the definition.
(I know this)
'seeds it's said' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'it's' could be 'es' ('e' can mean 'electronic' which is similar to 'IT') and 'es' is found in the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for cedes that I've seen before include "Gives way" , "Surrenders or relinquishes" , "Gives in, relinquishing" , "Hands over formally" , "Yields, hands over" .)
