Young adult might yet, in short, set out (6-9)
I believe the answer is:
thirty-something
'young adult' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I cannot understand how they can define each other.
'might yet in short set out' is the wordplay.
'set out' indicates anagramming the letters.
'might'+'yet'+'in'+'short'='mightyetinshort'
'mightyetinshort' with letters rearranged gives 'THIRTY-SOMETHING'.
