Crossword Genius

Zulu in repeat broadcast in bar (7)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

trapeze

'bar' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'zulu in repeat broadcast' is the wordplay.
'zulu' becomes 'Z' (phonetic alphabet: alpha, bravo, charlie etc.).
'in' is an insertion indicator.
'broadcast' is an anagram indicator.
'repeat' anagrammed gives 'trapee'.
'z' placed into 'trapee' is 'TRAPEZE'.

'in' is the link.

(Other definitions for trapeze that I've seen before include "Circus attraction" , "Swing used by circus acrobats" , "Circus feature" , "Circus acrobatsO swing" , "Swing-like apparatus" .)

I've seen this clue in The Times.
