Existentialist inspires head of Princeton University? (6)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

campus

'university?' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)

'existentialist inspires head of princeton' is the wordplay.
'existentialist' becomes 'camus' (I have seen 'French existentialist ' mean 'camus' so perhaps 'existentialist' could also mean 'camus').
'inspires' means one lot of letters goes inside another (inspire means to breathe in).
'head of' says to take the initial letters.
The initial letter of 'princeton' is 'p'.
'camus' enclosing 'p' is 'CAMPUS'.

(Other definitions for campus that I've seen before include "Grounds for a student" , "Pre-planned college layout and grounds" , "buildings in Nottingham, say" , "academic haunt" , "Grounds of university or college" .)

I've seen this clue in The Guardian.
