Ross

I believe the answer is:

arms

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'furnishes' is the definition.
(arming is a kind of furnishing)

'room like cushions?' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'room' could be 'rm' (I've seen this in other clues) and 'rm' is found in the answer.
'like' could be 'as' and 'as' is present in the remaining letters.
This accounts for all the letters.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for arms that I've seen before include "Equips for war" , "Guns et cetera" , "Protesting violently, up in these" , "bombs and guns etc" , "George Bernard Shaw play '. . . . and the Man'" .)

I've seen this clue in The Guardian.
