Crossword Genius

In the post, a bonus coffee pot (4)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

perk

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'coffee pot' is the definition.
The definition and answer can be both related to property as well as being singular nouns.
Maybe they are linked in a way I don't understand?

'in the post a bonus' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'a' could be 'per' (eg 'one a day' means 'one per day') and 'per' is present in the answer.
A single letter 'k' remains which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for perk that I've seen before include "Company car, for example" , "Incidental benefit from one's employment" , "A little extra" , "Fringe benefit" , "Informal goodie given on top of salary" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
