Incline towards making increase in production? (6)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

rampup

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'increase in production?' is the definition.
'rampup' can be an answer for 'increase' (I've seen this in another clue). I'm not certain of the 'in production?' bit.

'incline towards making' is the wordplay.
'incline' becomes 'ramp' (synonyms).
'towards' says to put letters next to each other (I've seen this in other clues).
'making' becomes 'up' (I can't justify this - if you can you should give a lot more credence to this answer).
'ramp'+'up'='RAMPUP'

Can you help me to learn more?

(Another definition for rampup that I've seen is " Bolster or strengthen".)

I've seen this clue in The Irish Times.
