'store of supplies' is the definition.
'depot' can be an answer for 'store' (synonyms). I am not certain of the 'of supplies' bit.

I cannot understand how the rest of the clue works.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for depot that I've seen before include "bus terminus" , "Terminus for transport vehicles" , "Storehouse as for supplies" , "Military HQ" , "storeroom" .)

I've seen this clue in The Guardian, The Globe and Mail and The Telegraph.
