Nice version of "square” (5,9)
I believe the answer is:
petit bourgeois
'nice version' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I don't see how one could define the other.
'of square' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'of' could be 'o' and 'o' is located in the answer.
'square' could be 't' (a T-Square is a technical drawing instrument) and 't' is located in the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Another definition for petit bourgeois that I've seen is " Lower middle class (person)".)
