S, it’s said, has extreme generosity (8)
I believe the answer is:
largesse
'generosity' is the definition.
(I know that largesse is a type of liberality)
's it's said has extreme' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
's' could be 'ess' (I've seen this in another clue) and 'ess' is located in the answer.
'it' could be 'e' ('e' can mean 'electronic' which is similar to 'IT') and 'e' is found in the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for largesse that I've seen before include "Money or gifts generously given" , "Les rages at the distribution of gifts" , "Magnanimity, munificence" , "Generous giving" , "Generosity in bestowing gifts" .)
