Crossword Genius

Wine and tea leading to endless happiness (7)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

chablis

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'wine' is the definition.
(I know that Chablis is a type of white wine)

'tea leading to endless happiness' is the wordplay.
'tea leading' becomes 'cha' (I am not sure about this - if you are sure you should give a lot more credence to this answer).
'to endless' means to remove the last letter.
'happiness' becomes 'bliss' (bliss is a kind of happiness).
'bliss' with its final letter taken away is 'blis'.
'cha'+'blis'='CHABLIS'

'and' acts as a link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for chablis that I've seen before include "French town noted for white Burgundy wines" , "Dry Burgundy wine" , "French dry white wine" , "Dry white Burgundy" , "Town in north central France noted for white Burgundy wines" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
