Crossword Genius

Ross

I believe the answer is:

put on airs

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'assume a haughty manner' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'broadcast satisfactory' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'broadcast' could be 'onair' (I've seen this before) and 'onair' is found in the answer.
'satisfactory' could be 's' (abbreviation in education) and 's' is present in the answer.
The remaining letters 'put' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for put on airs that I've seen before include "assume a haughty manner" , "A deejay might" , "act pretentiously" , "Behave in affected and haughty manner" , "DJ might" .)
