Crossword Genius

A red iron pot in ground (5,4)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

pinot noir

'a red' is the definition.
(I know that Pinot noir is a type of red)

'iron pot in ground' is the wordplay.
'ground' is an anagram indicator ('grind' the letters into a new form).
'iron'+'pot'+'in'='ironpotin'
'ironpotin' anagrammed gives 'PINOT NOIR'.

(Other definitions for pinot noir that I've seen before include "Red wine grape" , "no white wine" , "Type of red" , "Fruit" , "Drink" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
