Anybody without a name (7)
I believe the answer is:
someone
'a name' is the definition.
The answer and definition can be both people as well as being singular nouns.
Maybe they are linked in a way I don't understand?
'anybody without' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'anybody' could be 'one' (I've seen this in another clue) and 'one' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'some' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for someone that I've seen before include "big cheese" , "Unspecified human being" , "individual" , "A person (maybe of importance)" , "An unknown person" .)
