I cannot quite see how this works, but
'run' could be 'r' (cricket abbreviation) and 'r' is present in the answer.
'head?' could be 'cape' (both can mean a piece of land jutting over the sea) and 'cape' is found in the leftover letters.
A single letter 's' remains which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
