Be as good as and rise as high as (4,2,2)
I believe the answer is:
come up to
'be' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are verbs in their base form, I don't understand how one could define the other.
'good as and rise as high as' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'rise' could be 'comeup' (synonyms) and 'comeup' is present in the answer.
The remaining letters 'to' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This may be the basis of clue (or it may be nonsense).
'as' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for come up to that I've seen before include "Match" , "near" .)
