I believe the answer is:

trying

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'difficult' is the definition.
(similar in meaning)

'being a judge' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'judge' could be 'try' (as in trialling a defendant) and 'try' is present in the answer.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).

'is' is the link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for trying that I've seen before include "Vexatious - having a go" , "Essaying" , "Annoying; sampling" , "Attempting or stretching patience to the limit" , "Tiresome" .)

I've seen this clue in The Sunday Times and The Times.
