Bishop with respect to rabbi has one ... to anoint (5)
I believe the answer is:
bless
'one to anoint' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'bishop with respect to rabbi' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'bishop' could be 'b' (abbreviation for bishop in chess) and 'b' is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'less' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
'has' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for bless that I've seen before include "Call God's favour upon" , "Glorify" , "Anoint" , "Isn't that sweet?" , "Approve of" .)
