Crossword Genius

Bore just netting female insect (9)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

dragonfly

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'bore' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I cannot see how they can define each other.

'just netting female insect' is the wordplay.
'just netting female' becomes 'dragon' (I can't justify this - if you can you should believe this answer much more).
'insect' becomes 'fly' (fly is a kind of insect).
'dragon'+'fly'='DRAGONFLY'

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for dragonfly that I've seen before include "it wings along" , "creature!" , "Large winged insect" , "Large hovering insect" , "Insect with two pairs of transparent wings" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
