Bride on her wedding day, say, is covered up (6)
I believe the answer is:
veiled
'covered up' is the definition.
'veiled' can be an answer for 'covered' (thesaurus). I am unsure of the 'up' bit.
I cannot understand how the rest of the clue works.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for veiled that I've seen before include "wearing disguise" , "Covered or obscure, perhaps a reference (6)" , "Concealed like bride's face?" , "Obscured, hidden" , "Covered, hidden" .)
