I believe the answer is:

slogan

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'catchphrase' is the definition.
(eg a political catchphrase)

'southern irish singer' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'southern' could be 's' (abbreviation) and 's' is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'logan' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).

'from' acts as a link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for slogan that I've seen before include "Word or phrase adopted as motto" , "Tag line" , "Battle cry - advertising phrase" , "Motto, catchy phrase" , "Rallying cry" .)

I've seen this clue in The Independent.
