Character set with kind expression (8)
I believe the answer is:
typeface
'character set' is the definition.
'typeface' can be an answer for 'set' (I have seen 'Set of characters' mean 'typeface' so perhaps 'set' could also mean 'typeface'). I am not sure about the 'character' bit.
'kind expression' is the wordplay.
'kind' becomes 'type' (type is a kind of kind).
'expression' becomes 'face' (I can't justify this - if you can you should believe this answer much more).
'type'+'face'='TYPEFACE'
'with' acts as a link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for typeface that I've seen before include "Specific design and size for printing letters, numbers and characters" , "Set of characters" , "Designed range of printed lettering" , "Style of printing surface" , "Courier, perhaps" .)
