Composition that calls for assurance of touch (7)
I believe the answer is:
toccata
'composition' is the definition.
(I know that toccata is a type of composition)
'calls for assurance of touch' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'for' could be 'to' (eg both can mean 'in the opinion of') and 'to' is found in the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'that' acts as a link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for toccata that I've seen before include "Flashy piece of music" , "Keyboard piece emphasising touch" , "Keyboard composition emphasising technique" , "Noted work" , "Baroque keyboard composition" .)
