Continue to try to get the TV working (5,2)
I believe the answer is:
press on
'continue' is the definition.
(to press on with something is to continue with it)
'try to get the tv working' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'working' could be 'on' (e.g. a machine is working or on) and 'on' is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'press' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'to' acts as a link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for press on that I've seen before include "Keep going forward" , "Hasten insistently" , "Persevere doggedly, quickly" , "Continue (regardless)" , "Continue (with action)" .)
