Ross

I believe the answer is:

writ

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'court order' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'evicting a man from struggle' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'man' could be 'r' (abbreviation for rook, a chess piece or 'man') and 'r' is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'wit' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This may be the basis of clue (or it may be nonsense).

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for writ that I've seen before include "Warrant, court order" , "official order" , "Legal injunction" , "Veteran composed" , "Sealed document" .)

I've seen this clue in The Hindu.
