Deposited on the shore - or on the rocks (6,2)
I believe the answer is:
washed up
'deposited' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are past participle verbs, I can't understand how they can define each other.
I can't explain the rest of the clue.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for washed up that I've seen before include "Did kitchen duty" , "Thrown on shore; did dishes" , "Defeated or failed - left on shore? (6, 2)" , "Done for - cleaned dishes" , "Defeated, failed - or cleaned dishes" .)
