Diamonds are dealer's lead - fiendish or foolhardy? (4-5)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

dare-devil

'foolhardy?' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'diamonds are dealer's lead fiendish' is the wordplay.
'diamonds' becomes 'd' (abbreviation in bridge say).
'lead' says to take the initial letters.
'fiendish' becomes 'evil' ('evil' can be similar in meaning to 'fiendish').
The initial letter of 'dealers' is 'd'.
'd'+'are'+'d'+'evil'='DARE-DEVIL'

'or' is the link.

(Another definition for dare-devil that I've seen is " Person who takes risks".)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
