Divorces one with troubles (9)
I believe the answer is:
unhitches
'divorces' is the definition.
(as opposed to getting hitched)
'one with troubles' is the wordplay.
'one' becomes 'un' (northern English dialect form of 'one').
'with' says to put letters next to each other.
'troubles' becomes 'hitches' (a hitch is a problem or difficulty).
'un'+'hitches'='UNHITCHES'
I've seen this clue in The Guardian.
