Don't go to dance (4)
I believe the answer is:
skip
'dance' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'don't go' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'go' could be 'ski' (skiing is a kind of going) and 'ski' is found in the answer.
A single letter 'p' remains which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'to' acts as a link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for skip that I've seen before include "Bob" , "Omit - play with rope" , "Gambol" , "Depository for rubbish" , "Miss out; light jump" .)
