Don't move liberated zone that's been evacuated (6)
I believe the answer is:
freeze
'don't move' is the definition.
('freeze' is a command to stay still)
'liberated zone that's been evacuated' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'liberated' could be 'free' (similar in meaning) and 'free' is located in the answer.
'zone' could be 'z' and 'z' is found within the answer.
A single letter 'e' remains which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for freeze that I've seen before include "Don't move!" , "Solidify with cold" , "Harden into ice" , "Hold at fixed level - say prices" , "shivering" .)
