Emperor sees a report (6)
I believe the answer is:
caesar
'emperor' is the definition.
(title used by Roman emperors)
'a report' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'a' is present in the answer.
The remaining letters 'cesar' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'sees' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for caesar that I've seen before include "extraction operation" , "Emperor of ancient Rome, like Julius" , "Taking little bites" , "Roman dictator" , "See 2" .)
