Fish supplement pawned? (7)
I believe the answer is:
charged
'pawned?' is the definition.
(pawning is a kind of charging)
'fish supplement' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'fish' could be 'char' (char is a kind of fish) and 'char' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'ged' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for charged that I've seen before include "Indicted" , "Rushed; attacked" , "Entrusted (with a task)" , "Fraught with emotion" , "Accused of offence" .)
