Crossword Genius

Former member of RAF moving one's milk (7)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

exploit

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'milk' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'former member of raf moving one's' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'former' could be 'ex' and 'ex' is located in the answer.
'of' could be 'o' and 'o' is located in the answer.
'one' could be 'li' (I've seen this in other clues) and 'li' is found in the remaining letters.
This may be the basis of clue (or it may be nonsense).

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for exploit that I've seen before include "Make use of (a resource)" , "Bold and daring feat" , "Daring feat; use unfairly" , "Use to advantage" , "Milk" .)

I've seen this clue in The Guardian.
