I believe the answer is:

agreed

'from' is the definition.
I can't judge whether this defines the answer.

'a cupidity went along with' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'a' is present in the answer.
'cupidity' could be 'greed' (I've seen this in another clue) and 'greed' is located in the answer.
This accounts for all the letters.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for agreed that I've seen before include "In accord" , "Did concur" , "Assented, acquiesced" , "Let's do it!" , "It's a deal!" .)

I've seen this clue in the Evening Standard.
