Goes berserk after, say, good, strong drinks (3-5)
I believe the answer is:
egg-flips
'drinks' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'goes berserk after say good strong' is the wordplay.
'goes berserk' becomes 'lips' (I can't explain this - if you can you should believe this answer much more).
'after' says to put letters next to each other.
'say' becomes 'eg' (both can mean for example).
'good' becomes 'g' (abbreviation).
'strong' becomes 'f' (musical symbol for 'forte', 'strong' in Italian).
'eg'+'g'+'f'='eggf'
'lips' put after 'eggf' is 'EGG-FLIPS'.
Can you help me to learn more?
I've seen this clue in The Times.
