Crossword Genius

Goya's the artist living in fool's paradise (2,6)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

el dorado

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'living in fool's paradise' is the definition.
The answer and definition can be both locations as well as being singular nouns.
Perhaps you can see a link between them that I can't see?

'goya's the artist' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'artist' could be 'ra' (Royal Academician, member of Royal Academy of Arts) and 'ra' is located in the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for el dorado that I've seen before include "One who can't give something up" , "Fabled wealthy place" , "Fabled place for gold" , "Place of great wealth, from fictitious city on the Amazon" , "Fabled golden city" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
