Group has nothing to break your fall (5)
I believe the answer is:
nonet
'group' is the definition.
(group of nine musicians)
'nothing to break your fall' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'nothing' could be 'no' (similar in meaning) and 'no' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'net' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'has' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for nonet that I've seen before include "Tonne (anag.); music for a group" , "Instrumental group of nine players" , "Multi-figure composition" , "Group of singers" , "Piece for nine performers" .)
