Crossword Genius

Guided after party, leaving I supposed (2-6)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

so-called

'supposed' is the definition.
(thesaurus)

'guided after party leaving i' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'guided' could be 'led' ('lead' can be a synonym of 'guide') and 'led' is found in the answer.
'party' could be 'l' and 'l' is found within the answer.
'i' could be 'a' and 'a' is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'soc' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

(Other definitions for so-called that I've seen before include "Commonly designated" , "Inappropriately named?" , "Supposed or improperly named" , "Supposed, doubtful" , "Referred to by description open to question" .)

I've seen this clue in The Guardian.
