Hangs around for hotel worker's speech (6)
I believe the answer is:
haunts
'hangs around' is the definition.
The definition and answer can be both to do with motion as well as being verbs in their -s form.
Perhaps you can see an association between them that I can't see?
'hotel worker's speech' is the wordplay.
'hotel' becomes 'h' (phonetic alphabet: alpha, bravo, charlie etc.).
'worker's speech' becomes 'aunts' (I can't justify this - if you can you should give a lot more credence to this answer).
'h'+'aunts'='HAUNTS'
'for' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for haunts that I've seen before include "Visits like a ghost" , "Places where ghosts hang out?" , "Frequently visited places, hangouts" , "Frequents or visits as a ghost" , "Inhabits as a ghost" .)
