Crossword Genius

Immediately at that place, further in the past (5,3,4)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

there and then

'immediately' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'that place further in the past' is the wordplay.
'that place' becomes 'there' (as opposed to 'here' meaning this place).
'further' becomes 'and' (I've seen this in another clue).
'in the past' becomes 'then' (I've seen this in another clue).
'there'+'and'+'then'='THERE AND THEN'

'at' acts as a link.

(Other definitions for there and then that I've seen before include "Instantly (but not here and now!)" , "Without hesitation" , "Forthwith, immediately" , "straight away" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
