Improving at making a stage entrance (6,2)
I believe the answer is:
coming on
'improving' is the definition.
The definition and answer can be both related to change as well as being present participle verbs.
Maybe you can see a link between them that I don't see?
'at making a stage entrance' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'at' could be 'on' (location) and 'on' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'coming' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
