In a nosy sort of way (7)
I believe the answer is:
nasally
'in' is the definition.
Both the definition and answer are adverbs. Maybe they are linked in a way I don't understand?
'a nosy sort of way' is the wordplay.
'a nosy' becomes 'nasal' (I've seen this before).
'sort of way' becomes 'ly' (I can't justify this - if you can you should believe this answer much more).
'nasal'+'ly'='NASALLY'
Can you help me to learn more?
(Another definition for nasally that I've seen is " with a twang in the voice".)
